Shelby is a Northern California oil painter, watercolorist, and woodworker.
She found her passion for drawing and painting in her first high school art class in 2010. In 2011, she began receiving her formal training in painting and drawing at California State University: Sacramento and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2016.
In her junior year of college, she packed her bags and move halfway across the world to continue her studies for a year in Florence, Italy. In Florence, she studied at the Scuola Libera del Nudo located within the Accademia di Belle Arti. During her time there, she was involved in prominent art shows, including the 2015 Florence Biennale. Her painting in this show now belongs in a permanent collection in Bologna, Italy.
In 2016, she graduated from California State University: Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts.
Currently, she paints in her home studio in a small Northern California town near Auburn, California and participates is as many art shows and galleries that she can. When she’s not in her studio, she can be found woodworking, babysitting her two nephews, disc golfing with her husband, or remodeling their first home.
